New Feature: Create Multiple Projects for the Same Property

You can now create and manage multiple projects for a single property in FutureLot, making it easier to explore different building options without starting from scratch each time.

For example, you might want to show a homeowner two different ADU layouts, compare a home addition with a detached ADU, or test several building locations on the same lot.

Each project saves its own layout and site edits and annotations, so you can switch between options without losing your previous work.

How to Create Multiple Projects

You don't need to create a project when you first open a property. You can continue working as usual and use this feature only when you want to add additional options.

  1. Set up your property. Add your proposed building, adjust the lot boundaries, and make any other changes as you normally would.
  2. Create a new project. Open the Projects menu in the top right of the screen and select Create.
  3. Copy your existing work or start from scratch. Copying the data will bring your existing lot setup and elements into the new project. Give it a name, such as "Option 2."
  4. Explore another option. Change the floor plan, move the building, or make other adjustments. All changes are saved automatically to the new project.
  5. Switch between projects. Open the Projects menu and load any saved option to return to that layout.

Compare Options and Collaborate

Multiple projects make it easier to present alternatives to homeowners without recreating the property for every option.

You can compare building sizes, layouts, and locations while keeping each version available for future reference.

Projects also support team collaboration. Your team can access and work on the same projects, and FutureLot shows who made the most recent changes.

If you're only working on one design for a property, there's nothing you need to change. Simply continue using FutureLot as you normally would.
